So what exactly is considered income?
Let me emphasize the following. Income is any money you receive during the month that is available to pay your expenses. There are NO Exceptions!! Here are some examples of income that should be included in your Budget Snapshot.
- Income from work
- Bonuses from work
- Gifts of money
- Dividends and Interest from Non-Retirement Investments
- Proceeds from sale of anything( Ebay, Craigslist, local newspaper, etc)
- Alimony received
- Child support received
- Windfalls
Just because you don’t find what you have received on this list doesn’t mean that it is not income to be considered for your monthly budget. Don’t try to cheat the system.
